Sudan resistance: Marches of the Millions planned for Nov 13

Preparations by the resistance committees in Khartoum are in full swing for the November 13 Marches of the Millions, planned for Saturday, to allow members of the Sudanese public to demonstrate their rejection of the military coup, and demand a return to civilian rule and the democratic transition. Demonstrations are also planned by Sudanese abroad.

Darfur gunmen ‘see coup as a license to resume attacks’

Attacks on Darfuri villagers increased following the military coup of October 25, in particular in North Darfur where more than 2,000 families reportedly fled to Zamzam camp for the displaced. Yesterday, two farmers were killed on their farms in Tawila. Armed robberies have been reported in Central Darfur.

Third Sudanese university in recess as El Gezira suspends studies

The Board of Deans of El Gezira University today announced the suspension of study indefinitely “in order to preserve the safety of the university’s students and employees”. The decision follows an attack on the office of the university’s director this afternoon, during which the attackers ransacked and searched the office, and destroyed some items.
